Research tells us that intergenerational education and connection are important antidotes to ageism, and can bring communities together. Yet intergenerational connection and relationships are rare, a situation reinforced by the age segregation that’s embedded in many of our communities and institutions.

What can we do about it? We can start by deliberately bringing younger and older people together in situations where they have equal status and facilitating conversations.
